Lawrence Peabody Dole, Hamlin, died Friday night at home after an illness.  His wife of 62 years is the former Jean L. Shepperly.

Born in Hermon, Maine, he was the son of the late Arthur and Julia Peabody Dole.   He was educated in Maine and went on to receive his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in accounting.  Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.  He was a United States Navy veteran serving honorably during World War II.   He saw action in the Battles of Omaha, Normandy and the Bulge.

Also surviving are a daughter Sara Paquette and her husband Armond; a son Chris Dole and his wife Linda;  a granddaughter Tiffany Grayczyk and her husband Joe;  two great granddaughters Madelyn and Olivia Grayczyk;  a sister Priscilla Wickett; a brother Roger Dole;  nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters Rebecca Ambrose, Anna May Brown and Harriett Pickard;  brothers Francis and Arthur Dole.

As per Lawrence’s wishes there will be no viewing or funeral service.
