Lloyd L. Rosengrant, Lake Ariel, died Wednesday evening in the Mountain View Care Center after an illness. His wife of 44 years is the former Valerie Godak.
Born in Jefferson Twp he was the son of the late Walter and Florence Sachse Rosengrant. He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School. He was a devoted and active member of the Cortez United Methodist Church where he participated in many of it’s fundraising efforts. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Thompson Consumer Electronics. Lloyd was a member of the Maplewood Fire and Rescue Company, the Northeast Fireman’s Federation and the Wayne County Fire Police Association. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy.
He was known far and wide for his community activities both with Volunteer Fire Service throughout Wayne County and his church activities. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Also surviving are sons Dennis and his wife Elvira of New Jersey and William and his wife Mary of New York; daughters Linda Matousek and her husband Tom of Tamaqua and Valerie Gisinger and her husband James of Lake Ariel; brothers Alfred, Stewart, James and Ronald Rosengrant; ten grandchildren Danielle, Megan, Matthew, Eddie, Michael, Tommy, James, Ryan, Justin and Collin; a great grandson Jacob; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous friends and brothers and sisters in fire service.
He was preceded in death by brothers Harry and Julius and a sister Kathryn Harris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm in the Cortez United Methodist Church 967 Cortez Rd. Jefferson Twp. with Rev Art Yetter officiating along with members of the United States Navy Honor Guard and members of the Maplewood Fire and Rescue Company.
Friends may call Saturday from 11:30am until the time of service.
Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
