Lois Warriner Morgan

On the evening of November 12, 2025, Lois Warriner Morgan, formerly of Dalton, passed into eternal life following a valiant and courageous battle with dementia. Born in Scranton on August 9, 1929, she was the daughter and only child of Paul S. and Clare L Warriner of Montrose PA. Her loving husband, Robert L. Morgan preceded her in death in 1988.

Lois was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, PA, and furthered her education at the Wyoming Seminary Dean School as well as Dickinson College, Carlisle. She was formerly employed by the Veteran’s Administration in Germantown PA, and by the Lackawanna Trail School District as a reading specialist.

A longtime member of the Church of the Epiphany, Lois was a dedicated member of The Altar Guild, the church vestry, and Women of the Epiphany. She had a passion for golf, literature, and poetry. Even in the late stages of her dementia, Lois could recite Shakespeare and many of the poems she and her loving father composed during her childhood. Her fondest memories included days spent at Camp Onawandah and Little Elk Lake in Susquehanna County. Later in life she enjoyed memorable days at Lakeland Golf Club, Amasa Hill Farm, and Handsome Lake with family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the United Methodist Homes in Tunkhannock and Pittston for providing her with steadfast love and support as well as to the Sacred Heart Hospice for providing comfort and dignity in her final days.

Surviving are two daughters Suzette McHugh of Charlotte, North Carolina and Judi Johnson Fleetville; a son-in-law Douglas Johnson, who was truly like a son to Lois; 5 grandsons Adam, Chad, and Ethan Johnson of Fleetville, Mark and Brian McHugh of Charlotte, North Carolina; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service and internment will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, Glenburn, PA. at the convenience of the family.
