Louis Edward Armbruster, Jr., 87, Scranton, passed away at his home Wednesday morning. His wife of 68 years is the former Kay Dorsey.
Born in 1937 in Scranton, he was the son of Louis Edward, Sr. and Elizabeth Youngblood Armbruster. He attended Scranton schools and was a lifelong member of Saint Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church until its closing. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Bell Telephone Company for many years. After retirement he worked for the Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Company. Louis served honorably in the United States Navy.
Also surviving are daughters, Carrie A. Healey and Connie L. Kakareka; sons, Louis P. Armbruster, and his wife, Brigitte and Brian C. Armbruster; 10 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law Thomas F Healey; his grandson Skye Hunter Healey; sisters, Ruth Armbruster and Lois Behlke.
Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
