Mary Jane Fils-Aime

Mary Jane Fils-Aime, of Paupack Twp., died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA.  Her husband is Alix Fils-Aime. The couple was married on December 3, 1960.

She was born May 1, 1938 in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late William and Violet Louise Weekes Hill.

She was a devoted member of the St. Thomas More/St. Mary’s Parish Community. Prior to retirement she was the Co-Owner of Western Wayne Textiles Co. She was an avid scrapbooker of pictures of loved ones, also loved word games, scrabble, and cards. Her passion was being with her family especially her grandchildren. A devoted foster mother to countless children throughout the years she was there for them during their darkest times. When things were stressful she would have a night of therapy which included a glass of wine and laughter. All of her nieces and nephews enjoyed spending time on the Hill with Aunt Mary Jane in the summer and being chased by the Yellow Plastic Spoon.

Also surviving are three daughters: Karin & Husband Reinhard Gartner of Cochecton , NY, Holly & Husband Shawn Murphy of Murfreesboro, TN, Mary Jane & Husband Yusuf Lawal of Hawley , PA;  sons Alix & Wife Sue Fils-Aime of Duboistown, PA Son, Christian & Fiance Shirley of Greentown, PA;  a brother: Roy Hill of Brooklyn, NY; Sister, Mildred Ann Hill-Espino of Hawley, PA;  22 Grandchildren; Best Friend, Mary Ellen Corridine and her daughters one of whom is Mary Jane’s God daughter; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Antoine Fils-Aime; a sister, Lillian Hill-Sherman; brothers William & Richard Hill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12pm in St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Church Rd. Ledgedale.

All attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
