Mary D. Penwarden Aleckna

Mary D. Penwarden, of Honesdale, died Saturday at home following an illness. Her husband of 26 is Daniel Penwarden.

Born in Scranton, Pa, daughter of the late James T. and Nancy Loomis Aleckna.

Mary enjoyed camping and Ponadrosa Pines Campground, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids.

Surviving are sons Steve Aleckna and his wife Jaime of Lake Ariel, Jason Purvis and his wife Amber of Waymart, Jason Penwarden and his wife Raunlyn of Jermyn, and William Hadden and his fiancé Stephanie Bossick of Peckville; sisters Debbie Smith of Az, Patricia Beavers of Madisonville, and Tina Zotynia of Bushkill Falls; brothers James Aleckna, Jr of Lake Ariel and David Aleckna of Hamlin; grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Morgan, Molly, Noah, Addison, Rowan, Vaida, Kobe, Cobin, Landon, and Heath; several nieces and nephews

Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory

A Memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00am in the Light of Christ Church, 2071 Moosic Lake Rd, Mount Cobb, Pa 18436 with services by Rev. Pat Lee, Pastor
