Maureen "Coco" Connell, 91, of Tallahassee, Florida, and South Abington Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning following an illness.

Born in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Margaret McDermott and was a graduate of William Cullen Bryant High School.

To everyone who knew her, she was simply "Coco." She loved playing bingo, breakfast dates, spending time at the beauty shop, cooking, watching cooking shows and soap operas, and sending cards just to let someone know they were thinking of them. More than anything, Coco loved her family. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Laureen Dempsey and her husband, Dr. William Dempsey, of South Abington Township; her sons, James Connell and his wife, Vicky, of Orange Park, Florida, Thomas Connell and his wife, Laura, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Paul Connell and his wife, Ann, of Tallahassee, Florida; her brother, Charles McDermott, of Manhattan, New York; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher Connell; her sister, Honora McDermott; and her brother, Thomas McDermott.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green.

Interment will follow at Dunmore Cemetery.
