Maxwell Watkins

Maxwell Watkins, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, passed away Thursday evening in the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an  illness. His wife of 66 years was the former Jean Young.

Born 1920 in Pontypool, Wales, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beatrice Davies Watkins. Max was of the Baptist faith. Prior to his retirement he had been employed as a police officer with the New York Port Authority and later was employed by the Pinkerton Company as Head of Security for Ingersol Rand. Among his various activities Max was a member of the Advisory Board at Wallenpaupack Lake Estates. He was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II.

Surviving are sons Mark Watkins of Lake Ariel and William Watkins of Oregon; a grandson Bill Watkins and his wife Denise; three great grandchildren Julia, Brennan and Emily; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers Russell and Trafford.

Friends and family may call Thursday, March 20th from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, private in Lakeville Cemetery.
