Melvin Alton Altemier

Melvin Alton Altemier, born on May 22, 1952, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, due to natural causes. His  loving wife was the Carol (Devine) Altemier

Melvin was the youngest beloved son of the late Peter Altemier and Mary (Dovin) Altemier. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Eugene and Kenneth Altemier.

A dedicated CNC operator in the Tool and Die industry, Melvin's commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life and the diverse interests that shaped him.

An aficionado of amateur radio, Melvin found joy in connecting with others through his hobby. His love for antique tractors and classic cars reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history, and he relished attending antique tractor shows, where he shared his enthusiasm with fellow enthusiasts.

Melvin was deeply rooted in his farming community, enjoying the camaraderie of those who shared his values and interests. His talent for small engine repair showcased his hands-on skills and problem-solving abilities, earning him the respect and admiration of many.As a devoted father, Melvin leaves behind his son Robert Altemier and daughter Laurel Altemier, who will cherish the memories of his unwavering support and guidance. He also is remembered fondly by his niece, Barbara (Altemier) Resto, wife of Gil Resto Jr., and his great nephew Jackson Resto.

Throughout his life, Melvin was known as a great provider, friend, and helper to those in need, always ready to lend a hand or offer wise counsel. His legacy of kindness and generosity will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Melvin's life will be held Friday December 5th at Noon in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. Friends may call Friday morning from 10am until the time of service.
