Miriam Lola Kuehnapfel

Miriam Lola Kuehnapfel, 95, of Lake Ariel, passed away Tuesday, July 1st at Marywood Heights, Scranton following a brief illness. Her husband of 66 years, Albert G. Kuehnapfel passed away in 2015.

Born in West New York, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Elide Pietri - Battistin. Lola graduated grammer school in North Bergen, NJ, and High School in Dumont, NJ. While raising her children, Lola worked for Scholastic Magazine.

While in High School, Lola and Albert met and later went on to get married. Their first 11 years of marriage was spent living near Naval Air Stations across the United States while Albert was serving in the United States Navy. In 1960, they moved back to River Vale, NJ to raise their 4 children. In 1985, they retired and moved to Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Pennsylvania, where they enjoyed life and traveling.

Survivng is her daughter Karen Fels and her husband Paul of Lake Ariel; sons Brian Kuehnapfel and his wife Mary Ann Bischoff of Virginia and Eric Kuehnapfel and his wife Chinmi Kim of Massachusetts; daughter-in-law Diane Kuehnapfel of New Jersey; grandchildren Jennifer, Jackie and her husband Anthony, Gary and his wife Kimberly, Carl and his wife Nickie, Anna Beth, Jim and his wife Denise, Jamie, and Casey; great-grandchildren C.J., Ethan, Emma, and Owen; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Gary Kuehnapfel and her brother Sylvan Battistin

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, July 9th at 10:00am in St. John's Episcopal, 564 Easton Turnpike, Hamlin, Pa by Priest-in-Charge, Father Ronald R. Miller.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 8th from 4:00PM - 7:00PM in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
