Nicole Fox

Nicole Fox, of Scranton, passed away Saturday evening at the Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved widow of Carl J. Fox, Sr., who passed away in 2020. The couple shared 61 years of marriage.

Nicole was born in 1940 in Morsang-sur-Orge, France, and was the daughter of the late Henri Jaque Lobuyat and Jean Marguerite Paulin.

Throughout her life, Nicole worked many jobs, including her well-known time as Seatbelt Sam. In more recent years, she worked for 29 years at Brace's Orchard stand at the Scranton Farmers' Market. Nicole truly loved working and was known for her friendly smile and warm personality. No matter where she was, she made people feel welcome.

A fantastic cook, Nicole especially loved preparing supper for her family, bringing everyone together around the table. She was a true social butterfly with countless friends, and even while receiving care at Linwood, she became a favorite of the staff, who adored her kindness and spirit.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Surviving are her daughter, Denise Van Wert; sons, Carl J. Fox, Jr. and his wife, Kim, and William J. Fox and his wife, Auralee; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 14th at 9:30am in the Holy Rosary Church of the Mary, Mother of God Parish 316 William Street Scranton, PA 18508. Family and Friends are welcome to visit from 8:30-9:30 in Church before Mass.
