Nina D. Serrone, 85, of Lake Ariel, passed away Thursday afternoon at Serenity Care Mid Valley, following an illness. Her husband of 38 years, Vito Serrone passed away in 2023.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Leo - Ferrara. She was a graduate of Valley Stream South High School. Prior to retirement, she was an Executive Secretary for Grumman Data Systems in Bethpage, NY. She attended the Light of Christ Church, Jefferson Twp.

Surviving are her daughter Christine Pompeo and her husband Joe of Waxhaw, NC; sons Joseph Longo and his wife Carleen of Newfoundland, Pa, Vincent Longo and his wife Judy of Lake Ariel, and Robert Longo of Lake Ariel; sister Rosalie Gatea and her husband James of Cranford, NJ; grandchildren Thomas, Amanda, Robbie, Kevin, and Katie; 5 great - grandchildren; a niece and nephew. 

Nina's family wishes to thank her long-time caregiver Dawn Toome, her daughter-in-law Nurse Judy and the entire HHCP Home Health Care Professionals and Hospice Staff, and the staff of Serenity Care in Mid Valley for the love and care shown to Nina and their entire family. 

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 4th at 4:30 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa.
