Norman W. Batzel

Norman W. Batzel of Lake Ariel died Friday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital following an illness. His wife of 54 years is the former Kathryn Mecca.

Born in Avoca, PA, son of the late Warren P. and Alice Legg Batzel, he was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School and had been employed by S.J. Bailey and Sons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Norman enjoyed woodworking, metal detecting and spending time with his family.

Also surviving are a son Warren Batzel and his wife Stacey; brothers and sisters Allan Batzel and his wife Lorraine, Steven Lesher, Ruth Washine and her husband Bill, and Doug Lesher and his partner Judy; grandchildren Sean and Ryan Batzel.

He was preceded in death by brothers Curt Lesher and William Batzel and a sister Avis Black.

Funeral Services will be Saturday August 13 ^th at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Road Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Jane McCarthy.

Friends may call Saturday morning 10:00-11:00am.

Interment, Tisdel Cemetery, Lake Ariel.
