September 2, 1954 — March 13, 2023

Patti A. Schreck

Patricia Schreck, 68, of Lake Ariel, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2023 after

a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of 48 years to Gary Schreck, daughter

of the late Katherine (Kate Altmose) and Raymond (Rip) Swingle.

From a very young age Patti left an indelible impression on all she encountered, being blessed

with the best attributes of both her mom and dad. Personifying her mothers unwavering

conviction of faith, willpower, and physical strength, not to mention, the uncanny ability to be the

life of the party, make people laugh, and tell a great story, just like her father.

Patti loved selflessly, always extending a helping hand whether it was in a physical sense, or

simply doing what she did best as a Prayer Warrior. Her love for family and friends was

undeniable as a constant pillar of strength, encouragement, and support, whether it was

demonstrated by simply picking up the phone, sending a card, or making someone’s favorite

food. Though Patti had 2 biological children, countless others referred to her as “mom.”

Patti was a gifted cook and found great pleasure in gardening, and immersing herself in all that

nature had to offer. Patti praised God for the beauty of nature on her daily walks.

Patti is survived by her loving husband Gary, a son Scott (Kristin), a daughter Julie, a sister

Alice (Richard) Locklin, as well as two grandchildren, Joseph (Brieann) and Josh, two great

grandchildren (Ryan and Olivia), and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

It was with a grateful heart, and thankful spirit, Patti lived her life to its fullest, free of complaints,

despite the challenges she encountered on her journey.

In lieu of flowers, Patti’s heart’s desire

was that memorial contributions be made to support children facing a cancer diagnosis at St.
