Paul Black

Paul W. Black, Jefferson Twp., passed away Friday morning in the Allied Services Hospice Center after an illness.  His wife is the former Judy Judge.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Leonard J. and Ruth Pelham Black and was a 1967 graduate of the Lake Consolidated School, Lake Ariel.  Upon graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Army where he served honorably during the Vietnam War.  Upon his discharge, he began his career as a truck driver for local trucking companies.  He was of the Christian faith.

Paul loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.   He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.  He will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are his sisters Rev. Ruth Hollister of Waynesboro, Juanita Pugh and husband Allan of Lake Ariel and Vivian Bartlow of West Wyoming; brothers Virgil and wife Faye of Star, MS, and Brian Black of Lake Ariel; sister in law Carolyn Black of Lake Ariel;  nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brothers Rev. Wilbur Black and Roger Black and wife Frieda; brother in law Harold Hollister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 26 th at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel officiated by Revs. James Hollister and James Sheridan.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 10am until time of the service in the funeral home.

Interment with military honors, Maplewood Evangelical Cemetery, Maplewood.
