Pete "Petie" Sheerer

Pete “Petie” Sheerer” died early Friday morning in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after being stricken ill at home.

Born 1951 in Scranton, he was the son of Carol Freeman Sheerer of Mt. Cobb and the late Peter F. Sheerer.  He was educated in Jefferson Township and Western Wayne Schools.  Petie had been employed for many years by Jefferson Township as well as for Gus Wittenbreder.

Petie was a loving and caring son, brother and uncle.   He will be greatly missed by all who have been blessed to have known him.

Also surviving are siblings Gladys Aleckna and husband Tony and Gloria Gard all of Mt. Cobb, Lisa Swingle and husband John of South Canaan, Amy Davis and husband Rich of Madisonville, Billy Sheerer and wife Brenda of Taylor, Jamie Sheerer of Dunmore and Marlene Lloyd of Carbondale; twenty five nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings Paul, Carol Ann and Kathy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with Rev. Pat Lee officiating.

Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm.

Interment, Mt. Cobb Cemetery.
