Phillip J. Carpenter, 55 of Lake Ariel passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 2, 2026.
Born December 16, 1970, Phil was the son of Martin Carpenter and Ruth Curnow.
Phil was passionate about trucking from childhood, always in the garage working on any truck or equipment he could get his hands on. He later attended mechanics school and enjoyed a life long career of being on the road or in big trucks. He was formerly employed by Henderson Trucking and Koberlein where he made countless friends. He most recently worked for Pioneer Construction where he formed more friendships and bonded with those who shared his passion for trucking.
Prior to his trucking career, he spent some years working on Bryant's Farm fixing tractors and farm equipment. Phil often spoke of his time on the farm and the wonderful relationship he shared with the Bryant family.
He was incredibly proud of the life he built with his loving partner Anna, the family they shared, and the memories they built over the past almost 13 years. They enjoyed truck rides together, attending truck shows, and many trips to Lancaster together.
Phil was friendly and welcoming to all those he encountered, always willing to engage in conversation or offer a helping hand. And while he is remembered by many as a good friend, Poppy was the title he was most proud of. He enjoyed making memories with his little buddy Calvin going on annual trips to St. Nick's Christmas light display and giving tractor rides.
He is survived by the love of his life, Anna Samson, his mother Ruth Curnow, two brothers Harrison Carpenter and his wife, Marlene and Stephen Carpenter, a sister, Marlene Skeen, surrogate daughters Emily Zeiler and her husband Braden and Stephanie Dellomo and her husband Dominic, grandsons Calvin Zeiler and Dawson Dellomo and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Martin Carpenter, brother, Marty Carpenter, nephew, Harrison Carpenter, special people to him, John & Celine Thiel, and granddaughter, Nora Zeiler.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held Wednesday at 6pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel and will be officiated by Rev. Wendy D'Agostino.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4pm until the time of the service.
Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory of the James Wilson Funeral Home.
