Robert John Griffiths

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Griffiths Jr., who departed from this world on June 1, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on December 24, 1958, in West Scranton, Pennsylvania, Robert, whose love for his family was unwavering, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Robert's dedication to service extended beyond his family; he proudly served with the Seabees in the Naval Reserve. He spent his professional life contributing to the community as a landscaper and maintenance worker for the Scranton Housing Authority, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for others. Previously, he was a welder and fabricator at the Elliot Company. Growing up, Robert attended Jackson Street Baptist Church, where he met the mother of his children. He enjoyed the outdoors, and fostered this love with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, blueberry picking, canoeing, stargazing, beach trips, and NY Jets. He liked to laugh, crack jokes, and play the occasional well-timed prank. His quick wit was felt by everyone in one way or the other. Dad was always a man of his word. His humor and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his children: Lindsey Anne Griffiths, Rory John Griffiths and wife Morgan, Aaron Robert Griffiths and wife Christina, Carly Rae Griffiths-Talarico and husband Dominic, Kelly Hart (Steven), and Leo Hart (Cheryl). He also leaves behind 12 beloved grandchildren: Michelena, Madelyn, Lily, Darcy, Nathaniel, Enzo, Donovan, Leo, Fallyn, Noah, Christian and Jacob. He is also survived by a sister, Rebecca Ziegler (Jeff), a brother, Mark Griffiths (Sally), and nieces and nephews. In addition, he leaves behind Diane Curmaci, his significant other.

Robert was preceded in death by his cherished late wife of over 3 decades, Gina Griffiths, and his parents Lois and Robert Griffiths, Sr.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on June 7, 2025 at the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Ash Street, Scranton at 1PM. Family and Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
