Robert W Hollister, 81, Sterling, passed away January 19th in the allied services hospice center after an illness. His wife of 62 years is the former Barbara Morgan. The couple would have been married 63 years in August.
Born, February 15, 1943 in Hollisterville. He was the son of Edmond and Esther Parry Hollister. He attended school in Lake Ariel and was a lifelong and devoted member of the Jericho Independent church. He served honorably in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Wilmont’s nursery.
He was a jack of all trades who was always willing to help anyone in need. Anyone who knew him knew that they could depend on him for help at any time. He will be dearly missed.
Also surviving are daughters, Robin Foreman, and her husband Jeff and Esther Burge; son, Clifford Hollister and his wife, Melissa; son-in-law Nicholas Giles; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Lutz and Barbara Walton Mitchell; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Bobbie Jo Giles, as well as his great grandson Everest Foreman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 25th at the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville, 23 Pond Road, Hollisterville at 11 AM with services by Rev James Sheridan and assisted by Rev Randy Wheeland.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 AM to time of service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jericho independent church, the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville, or to the charity of choice
