Romayne T. Vogel Pappas

Romayne T. Vogel, 88 of Lake Ariel, passed away Monday evening at home following an illness.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Patyk – Pappas. She was a graduate of Hawley High School Class of 1952. Prior to retirement, she was a long-time employee of Cove Haven Resort. She was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community.

Romayne was always up for an adventure. She was known for her cooking and storytelling. Spending time with her family was her true pride and joy.

Surviving are daughters Donna Gershey and her husband Dan of Lake Ariel, Susan Fanucci and her husband Gary of Madison Twp., and Melanie Arnold and her husband Mark of Mt. Cobb; a son Dan Vogel and his wife Daria of Scranton; sisters Angela Muccino of Port St Lucie, Fl, Juel Shutkufski of Lakeville, and Ann Marie Pappas of Lakeville; grandchildren Justin, Stephanie, Joel, Heather, Anthony, Amanda, Danny, Brooke, and Casey; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great – great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Sue Vogel; sisters Helen Ratay and Leona Malinoski; brothers Vincent, Ronald, and Anthony Pappas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 11 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, by Rev. Stephen Stavoy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Inc.

Spring Inurnment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale.
