Ronald R. Miller, Sr. of South Canaan went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ peacefully at home on Saturday morning surrounded by family.
He was a loving husband, father and friend to many.
Born 1932 in West New York, NJ he was the son of Anthony and Catherine Miller. He was a resident of South Canaan for the past 66 years. Ronald served in the US army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Bailey’s and PennDOT, before retiring from Tobyhanna Army Depot. After retirement, he worked at Robert Wilson elementary school as a custodian. In 1955 he married Betty May Seeley. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on March 26th.
Ronald was a New York Yankee and New York Giants fan and was a member of the Waymart golf league for over 40 years.
In addition to his beloved wife Betty, he is survived by his son Ron Jr. and wife Joann of Peckville, daughter Ann and her husband Mark Evans of Waymart, and son Ed of Waymart; 2 grandchildren Heather and her husband Tony Vigil of Carbondale, and Jon Miller and his wife Mary of Barboursville, WV; 5 great- grandchildren Bethany, Matthew, Cayden, Celina, Julie, and one on the way; a brother Robert in Mechanicsburg, PA and a sister Kathleen in Taylors, SC.
The family would also like to thank their extended family Scott and Linda Walck and their 4 sons Scott, Bailey, Dylan, and Julien, who he considered to be adopted grandchildren, for their love and visits which brightened his life. The family would also like to recognize Ray and Cheryl Lewis for their love and compassion for dad.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by a brother Anthony.
He was a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church, Dickson City. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Alliance Church, Dickson City.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, followed by inurnment and military honors at East Canaan Cemetery.
