Rosalie Straub, 72, of Dunmore passed away Saturday, January 18 at Dunmore Healthcare Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Regina (Miller) Colachino and was married for 40 years to the love of her life, the late John J. “Jack” Straub who she is now dancing with in heaven.

Rosalie was educated at Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale, and after receiving her High School diploma, she received a diploma in secretarial work from Scranton Business Institute and spent the next 30+ years working for Cinram, later Najafi working as an administrator and production manager.

Surviving are a daughter Gabriella Straub whom she loved more than life itself and her fiancé Burnadette; Brothers Fred and his wife Julie, Frank and his wife, Carol; grandchildren Minda Rose and Gabriel Joseph who were her world; other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother Butch, a sister Loretta, as well as an infant sister also named Rosalie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sunday, February 2 at 10:30AM at Ss. Francis and Clare Progressive Catholic Church, 3343 Greenwood Avenue, Moosic, Rt. Reverend William A. Mentz, pastor presiding. Those attending the Mass are asked to wear bright colors to celebrate her life.

Friends may call from 8:30AM until the time of Mass in the church.

A private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

Private Inurnment to take place February 3, at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
