Rosine Skelton

Rosine M. Skelton, Sterling, died Saturday in the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness.  She was the widow of Glenn A. Skelton, Sr who died in 2006.  The couple had been married 56 years.

Born 1934 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Patrick and Katherine Rosine Conklin Gilmore.  She attended Herman Ridder Junior High and graduated from the James Monroe High School, New York City.  She was a faithful member of the Jericho Independent Church.  Prior to her retirement she had been employed as bookkeeper at Construction Service in New Jersey and locally for the 1 st National Bank of Lake Ariel, Butler’s Disposal and Sterling Township.  She volunteered at the Jericho Independent Church, the Calvary Temple in Taylor and the Ocala Springs Baptist Church, Ocala, Florida  as a Sunday school and VBS teacher, custodian, sang in the choir,  and also served as a treasurer for the Hamlin Assembly of God Church and the Calvary Temple.

The family would like to thank the staff of Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel, PA especially all those on the “A” and “B” hallways for their thoughtfulness and the amazing care given to our mother during the 7 years she resided at the home. You are so appreciated, Mom loved you all and we do too!

Surviving are daughters Kathleen Schaffer and husband Christopher, Patricia Adams and husband Lonnie and Sandra Wolfley;  sons, William and wife Theresa and Glenn, Jr. and wife Tracy; 19  grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant great granddaughter Gabrielle Wolfley in 2005.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11am in the Jericho Independent Church 289 Sterling Rd. Newfoundland by Rev. William Henwood.

Friends may call Friday from 10am until time of service.

All CDC guidelines such as social distancing and use of facial coverings will be observed.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
