Ruben A. Gonzales

Ruben A. Gonzales, 56, of Jefferson Twp., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday evening after an illness. His wife of 30 years is the former Michelle Brinkman.

Born in Tucson, AZ, he is the son of Ruben and Gloria Alvarez – Gonzales of Oracle, AZ. He was a graduate of Ray High School in Kearny, AZ and ITT Technical Institute in Tucson, AZ. He was a member of Canaan Bible Chapel, South Canaan. Currently, he was a Network Administrator at Integrated Power Design in Nanticoke, PA.

Ruben enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, and he learned and appreciated the deeper meaning of songs. Ruben was a gifted drum and guitar player, and he rejoiced in playing the guitar during church services. Ruben was an avid reader, and he delighted in collecting Star Wars, Star Trek, space, and music memorabilia. One of his favorite phases of life was being a youth group leader and accompanying teens on trips and competitions. Most of all, he cherished being a dad to his three children. While he wasn’t a man of many words, his actions showed how much he loved his Lord and Savior.

Also surviving are his children Esperanza, Valencia, and Byron Gonzales of Jefferson Twp.,; sisters Kris Herring of Elko, NV, Jani and Venus Gonzales of Oracle, AZ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 19 ^th at 5pm in Canaan Bible Chapel, 30 Hemlock Rd. Lake Ariel.

The family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions in Ruben’s honor be made to Canaan Christian Academy Music and Sports Fund, 30 Hemlock Rd. Lake Ariel, PA 18436.
