Ruth Ellen “Cookie” Herring Funk, 61, of Lake Ariel passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 6, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Carol Herring.

Cookie was an amazing strong woman who loved her family more than life itself.
She loved cooking, baking, decorating and genealogy and she was great at all of them.
She had a gentle genuine soul and will be missed by so many.

In addition to her parents Richard and Carol Herring, she is predeceased by her son Jason Ali Nixon and her brother Steven Herring.

Surviving is her loving husband of 38 years, James Funk of PA; son Martin Nixon of NY; daughter Shaneka Nixon and her husband Cliff Joseph of PA; son James Funk and his finance Kelley Sedeyn of NJ; daughter Alexis Funk and her finance Manual Mirailh of PA; and her grandchildren Aidan Joseph, Aubrynn Joseph, Noah Joseph, Arianna Mirailh, and Gabriel Mirailh.

A private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory.
