With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Shantilal Nagardas Patel, who departed this world on November 5, 2026, at the age of 91, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Originally from Vasandas Ni Khadki, Zarola, Gujarat, India, Shantilal lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, kindness, humility, and devotion to his family.

Shantilal was a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of his family. He will always be remembered for his gentle nature, simple way of living, and the love and care he shared with those around him. He believed in the importance of family, respect for others, and maintaining the traditions and values passed down through generations.

Throughout his life, Shantilal found happiness in the simple moments - spending time with loved ones, sharing family gatherings, and being surrounded by those who meant the most to him. His presence brought warmth and comfort to his family, and the memories created with him will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

His journey from his roots in Gujarat, India, to spending his later years in Scranton, Pennsylvania, reflects a life that connected generations, cultures, and cherished family traditions.

Although his passing leaves an irreplaceable emptiness in our hearts, his legacy of love, kindness, strength, and family unity will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and future generations.

Shantilal will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his entire family, relatives, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A traditional Hindu funeral service, including prayers, pooja, and final rites, will be held in accordance with Gujarati Hindu customs, followed by cremation will be held on Sunday November 8, 2026 at 11:30am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. 

Gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:30am until the commencement of the Funeral Service.

Procession to the crematory and cremation will take place at the end of the service in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the James Wilson Funeral Home under the proud and dedicated direction of Charles Newcomb, Hindu Community Liason and Funeral Home Associate.
