Steven DeSau, 71 a resident of South Williamsport PA, passed away as a result of a tragic automobile accident on Wednesday, January 7.
He was born on June 10, 1954, in Williamspot PA, the son of Dr. George Thomas DeSau and Ruth Faylene Newton DeSau. He had one sibling, his brother Michael Robert DeSau, and was a graduate of Loyalsock High School, Williamsport, PA.
Steven was a loving, caring, thoughtful and generous person whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially during holidays and special events. He was kind to all and loved music and reading. He learned and played the violin while in junior high school and continued to play and learn different instruments, including the guitar over the years.
He was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of books he has read, including current events, the bible and other religious books.
Steven was employed for over 25 years as a corrections officer for the Pennsylvania State Corrections Department. He retired in 2016.
He is survived by his brother, Michael and his wife Kimberly, of Moscow PA; his daughter, Jennifer and her husband Ron, of York PA; His grandchildren Emilynn and Madeline; His neices Jessica Corrigan, Jacqueline DeSau, Rachel DeSau, and nephew Matthew DeSau and many loving grand nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. George Thomas DeSau, his mother, Ruth Faylene Newton DeSau, his uncles James DeSau and PFC Lawrence DeSau, who was killed in action during the Korean War.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at South Williamsport United Methodist Church 409 Main Street S. Williamsport PA at a date and time to be announced. Family and friends are welcome.
