Steven A. Tibus, 66, of Lake Ariel, died Thursday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. His wife of 47 years is the former Linda Szabo.
Born in Englewood, NJ, son of the late Arthur and Audrey Faulkner Tibus. He was an Independent Scrap Metal Consultant.
Steven was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, corn hole, homing pigeons, traveling, and being a snow bird in Florida. His proudest achievements were his children and grandchildren.
Also surviving are daughters Julie Tibus and her husband Tony Guyette of Rota, Spain and Janice Tibus – McConnell of Lake Ariel; a son Steven Tibus and his wife Nora of River Edge, NJ; a brother Dennis Tibus and his wife Sandy of Edgewater, NJ; grandchildren Meaghan, Steven, Jr., and Matthew Tibus, Zachary and Lukas McConnell; an aunt Norma Eisenbaum – Hawkins; niece Mackenzie Szabo; nephew Christopher Szabo; brother-in-law’s Ernie and Steve Szabo; sister-in-law Theresa Szabo.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 – 5 pm at the funeral home.
Interment, Arlington Cemetery, Lake Ariel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
