Suzanne Ford of Moosic Lakes, Pennsylvania died peacefully at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Scranton, PA on October 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Hugh G. Ford, who passed away on January 14, 2000.

Born in Chicago, Suzanne grew up in Westchester County, NY and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Yonkers, NY. After high school, Suzanne worked as a model and a professional singer before working with All State Insurance Co. as a claims adjuster.

In February 1960, Suzanne married Hugh and settled in Suffern, NY. Suzanne is survived by her sons James and wife Mary Jo of Summerville, S.C. and Paul and wife Kristine of Williamsville, N.Y. and her daughters Suzanne and husband Jack of Dunmore, PA, Kathleen and husband Michael of Brewster, N.Y. and Kerry and husband Jim of Brewster, N.Y. A sixth child, Paul Robert, died as an infant. Suzanne, a/k/a Gram, is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

While raising five children, Suzanne attended Rockland Community College and earned her degree as a registered nurse. Suzanne worked at Ramapo Manor Nursing Center in Suffern, N.Y. for over 25 years.

In 1994, Suzanne and Hugh purchased a house on Moosic Lake in Mt. Cobb, PA. The “lake house” was a central meeting place for Suzanne, Hugh and their kids and grandchildren for many years. Everyone loved fishing, swimming and kayaking in “Gram’s lake.”

Suzanne loved singing, performing and art. She was a member of the choir at Sacred Heart Church and the Sacred Heart Players in Suffern, NY for many years. Suzanne was also a church cantor and participated in regional theatre after moving to Pennsylvania.

A private funeral mass will be held by the family at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton, PA.
