Thomas J. Grygo

Thomas J. Grygo, Honesdale, passed away Saturday June 21, 2025 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital with his companion, Mary Beth Bertig by his side after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born 1960 in Freeport, Long Island, New York, Tom was the son of the late John and Dorothy Tucker Grygo. Tom grew up in Wantagh, New York and was a graduate of Wantagh High School in 1978 and attended the Island Drafting and Technical Institute where he was educated as a draftsman and prior to his retirement due to his illness he had been employed by Weiss Markets. He attended the Light of Christ Church, Mt. Cobb.

Tom loved fishing, the ocean, the New York Yankees and played competitive baseball. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Also surviving are Mary Beth's son Ryan Bertig who Tom was very close to; his sister Kathleen "GiGi" Dyer; his brother John Gyrgo and his wife Barbara; nieces and nephews; friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Robert “Duff” Dyer.

Services will be held at a future date.
