Veronica R. Black of Lake Ariel and formerly of Throop, died Sunday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center following an illness.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Veronica Kacvinsky Tarabolski.  Veronica was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Scranton and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree.  She had worked for 25 years as an administrative assistant for Choice Bank in Maryland. She enjoyed shopping and selling at flea markets, and eating steamed crabs. She was of the Catholic Faith.

Surviving are a daughter Christine Peter and her husband Joseph of Lake Ariel; her long-time companion Joseph D. Finnegan of Throop; grandchildren Danille Miller, James Ricci, Jeremiah Peter and Zechariah Peter; great-grandchildren Ryan Gurshnski, Giovanni Miller, Daveon Miller, and Dominick Ricci.

A prayer service will be held Thursday at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Thursday from 10:00-11:00am.

Interment, Maplewood Methodist Cemetery, Maplewood.
