William Christopher

William M. “Billy” Christopher, Ledgedale, passed away Wednesday morning in the Aventura at Creekside, Carbondale, after an illness.   He leaves behind his wife the former Kathy Balton.

Born July 25,1943 in Ledgedale, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Gerrity Christopher and was educated in schools.  He was a lifelong and devoted Catholic who attended Mass every week in St. Thomas More Church.  Prior to his retirement he had been employed at Moore Business Forms in Honesdale.

Billy was honorably discharged from the Army. He was an avid hunter and gun and car enthusiast, especially Corvettes. He had a fond love for all his tractors, but his heart belonged to his John Deere. He was a kind and calm mannered man.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Christopher as well as two sisters, Ann Eisenhauer and Marie (Barry) Malsom and a brother Edward (Sue) Christopher; stepson John (Leah) Zawisky; grandsons John, Matthew and Kaleb; granddaughter Danielle Gebert; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Anthony Christopher, brother Joseph Christopher and sister Joan O’Hora. He was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cathy Zawisky Gebert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 1, 2025, 10am in St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Church Road, Ledgedale by Rev. Stephen Bosomafi, pastor.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:15am until the time of Mass in the church.

Spring interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billy’s honor and memory to St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel or Ledgedale Fire Department, Ledgedale.
