Obituary

William "Jack" Braxton, 76, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, passed away on Wednesday, May 20th at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. His wife of 52 years, the former Elizabeth "Liz" Kloss passed away in 2024.

Born in Orange, VA, he was the son of the late Clifton and Florence Long - Braxton. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Braxton Auto Care in the Sussex and Morris Counties Area. Jack spent majority of his free time with his grandchildren who he adored more than life itself. Younger days jack could be found tearing up the dance floor winning multiple competitions, playing basketball, pool, and softball on adult leagues. Jack was a father of four daughters but was the neighborhood dad and grandfather, from giving life lessons, teaching kids how to drive, and giving everyone jobs to just simply showing up for every milestone they hit in life. There wasn't a person that he came across that he didn't leave an impact on. He was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed.

Jack is survived by his daughters Nicole Braxton of Lake Ariel, Teresa Santini of Hawley, Jackalynn Braxton of Reading, Pa, and Patrice Braxton of Lake Ariel. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren: Billy, Christazia, Dametreous, Abree, Jorge, Jalin, Avien, Mason, Tristian, Gio, Avani, and Baekson. As well as 10 great-grandchildren; sister Donna Faye of Orange, VA; brothers Johnny Braxton, Pastor Lee Braxton, Michael Braxton, Freddy Braxton, and Tommy Braxton all of Orange, VA; nephews Lee Braxton, Jr., and Mark "Kootie" Brown; He is also survived by additional nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Elizabeth "Liz" Braxton, daughter Christine Braxton; grandson Samuel "Duke" Alston; sisters Judy Touchette and Barbara Ann Braxton; brothers James and Robert Braxton.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 30th at the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel with services by his brother, Pastor Lee Braxton.
