William J. Lucier, Pittston, died Thursday in the VA Medical Center, Plains after an illness.
He was born in Southington, CT and was the son of the late Gerard E. and Shirley A. Moone Lucier. Prior to his illness he had been employed as a aviation mechanic. He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran. Surviving are a daughter Nicole Lucier of Ocean Springs, MS; a son Gerald Lucier of Enterprise, AL; sisters Sheryl Kempinski of Sterling and Linda Crossman and her husband Robert of Salem Twp; a brother Robert Lucier of Conneticut; a granddaughter Trinity Penton; nieces and nephews Dawn Turano, Kelly Impsen, Ronald Bates, Robert Lucier, Dianne Shearer, and Caitlin Kempinski, great nieces and nephews Benjamin Turano, Wyatt Field, Gavin and Briona. He was preceded in death by brothers Edward G. and Ronald. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 19th in the Sterling United Methodist Church with Rev. Alison Grove pastor of the Friends in Faith Parish officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 12:30pm until time of service in the church. Cremation in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home. Interment of ashes with full military honors will take place in the Sterling Cemetery.
