Yvette Gagnon, 100, of Scranton, passed away Monday afternoon at The Gardens of Green Ridge surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Raymond Gagnon, passed away in 1974.
Born in Blackstone, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose Choiniere - Aucoin. She attended Woonsocket Public Schools in Rhode Island and the Dexter Hanley College at the University of Scranton where she studied French. Prior to retirement, Yvette a cashier at the Moses Taylor Hospital cafeteria. After retirement, Yvette spent many years volunteering at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish.9
Surviving are her daughters Linda Norton and her husband Brad of Chinchilla and Jane Nagurney and her husband Dr. David of Throop; son-in-law Gerald Bernosky of Olyphant; grandchildren Michelle Donahoe and her husband Jeff, Jeff Norton and his wife Francesca, and Laura Fallon and her husband Kevin; 6 great-grandchildren; Bradley, Patrick, David, Joshua, Savanna, and Claire; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Ann Bernosky; siblings Robert, Arthur, Peter, Leon, Joseph, Evelyn, Pearl, and Lillian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1st at 9:00am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave, Scranton.
Friends may call on Friday, October 31st from 5:00pm - 7:00pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Yvette's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
